Last Sunday (September 17th) we did 2 things as a consortium. We launched this site, and threw a party to celebrate in Seattle. The launch wasn’t without your typical launch hitches, but the party couldn’t have gone better. A HUGE thanks to everyone who made it out to enjoy some free t-shirts, beer and nerd talk.

We ended up seeing about 65 people throughout the night (giving away 70+ t-shirts). It was a really great opportunity to meet some of the conference goers before the actual conference. There are a couple of pics from the event in our flickr feed. We’re already planning something for SXSWi 2007. SXSWi is a lot fo fun, and if there’s any chance you can make it, please do.

In honor of the event (and a current meme floating around design circles - started by Jon Hicks) here’s our take on what “Design Isn’t”:

2560x1600
1920x1200
1680x1050
1600x1200
1280x1024

Feel free to crop/resize etc… to your heart’s content.

  • Mark, as I said in reply on my site, that's a gorgeous one, and so is your site! I’m glad that you didn’t take it too seriously too!

  • Wow, THANKS Jon! Yeah, we try not to take ourselves too seriously. I know you never meant for this to become a meme, but it sure was fun to follow.

Rules of Engagement

  • 1. Please leave a comment, not a novel.
  • 2. Don't be a jerk.
  • 3. We might disagree with you. That's okay. It happens sometimes. No need to make this comment area your personal battleground for your point of view. We'll do our best to let you have your say, but 50 comments arguing your opinion is a bit much, eh? We would consider it an abuse of Rule Number 2.
  • 4. Be relevant. You can contact us if you want to say something not pertaining to this entry.
